The City of Casey has appointed Aligned Leisure to manage seven leisure facilities commencing 1 July 2024.

General

It will be business as usual throughout this period. 

The centres will continue to operate until the close of business on Sunday, 30 June, with Aligned Leisure opening the doors on Monday, 1 July, to welcome the community to the new management.

Yes. Childcare services will continue to be provided at Casey ARC and Casey RACE, with no disruption to services through the transition period.

The group fitness timetable will largely remain unchanged. YMCA-branded classes such as Adrenaline HIIT and Pryme Movers will continue to run under a different name.

Yes. Aligned Leisure will contact all venue hirers and provide new booking forms in the coming weeks. Any hirer wanting to establish an account and pay by invoice must also complete a credit application.

No. The operating hours will remain the same.

Each year, the City of Casey reviews the fees and charges for the leisure facilities as part of the annual Council budget process. Further information on the outcome of the budget process will be shared with customers at least one month before any increase.

Membership

Possibly. All parties are working together on the transition plan, and we will share any changes (if required) to membership cards once confirmed to make it as easy as possible for our members.

No. The fortnightly debit process will remain the same; only the name on the transaction on your Bank or Credit Card statement will be different.

The YMCA will complete its final fortnightly debit on Thursday, June 20th, and Aligned Leisure will process its first fortnightly debit on Thursday, July 4th. The details listed on the transaction will change.

Swimming Lessons

Yes. Aligned Leisure has partnered with the Royal Life Saving Society of Australia to deliver nationally accredited lessons through the Swim and Survive Program.

Information on this program is available via the Swim and Survive website. Aligned Leisure is set to release further information to students and families to support their transition to the new program closer to the transition date.

Possibly, but unlikely. Aligned Leisure will make every effort to transition existing students into lessons on the same day and time.  

Slight changes may be required to accommodate the introduction of the new Swim and Survive Program curriculum (outlined above). Aligned Leisure will contact all students and families closer to the transition date to confirm your lesson dates and times and to highlight any changes.

All existing staff will have an opportunity to continue their employment at their current centres as part of Aligned Leisure’s Learn to Swim program.

No. Aligned Leisure has mapped the new curriculum to the YMCA program, meaning there is no need for reassessments. 

The new Swim and Survive program is designed to see students progress through various levels as they develop, with regular assessments a crucial part of ensuring the needs of students are continually met, supporting them to advance to higher levels when ready. More details on the program will be released closer to the transition date.

Gymnastics

No. The Casey Gymnastics Club will remain, and all Gymnastics programs will continue.

Sports

It will be business as usual throughout this period.

No. Competition days, times and standings will all continue through the transition.

Yes. Aligned Leisure will honour all existing agreements with groups and look forward to supporting you with this.

Skatepark

No. The session times will remain the same. You can continue to book and pay as usual.

No. We are working with the current coaching team to continue their employment and deliver the same lessons from July.
Yes. We will work with the current suppliers to stock all the latest gear.
Your membership or multi-visit pass will continue as normal.

Staff

Aligned Leisure is committed to working with as many of the existing staff team as possible and has a simple transition process employees can follow to join Aligned Leisure.

Aligned Leisure is working exclusively with the existing staff teams until the 24th of March to facilitate opportunities for them.
